Add a SummaryPhilip’s aphorism-toting grandfather used to say “Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect,” and Philip is about to embark on a life journey of payback that has everything to do with cause in effect. Philip’s journey takes him through the most unusual family circumstances, where no one was really who they seemed to be, whether it was his reclusive scientist father, or his Citizen Kane-like grandfather.

Add a CommentAll I can say is that this is a fantastic book , I admire everything about this book, honesty and friendship , really glad I own a copy of this fantastic book.:)
This book was slow in the begining although it got a little better further into the story, but it wasnt my kind of book. I think that other teens that can relate to this story would injoy it, but i connot, so it wasnt the book for me.
I did not like how the novel started out slow, however it took me time to get into the novel. Once the novel became fast paced, I started to enjoy it even more. The novel was well written. I like how this novel lets the reader experience the characters feeling through the different parts of the character’s life.
I felt this book at the part where he fell off his bike, was alittle out of the ordinary. i feel that in real life this book would not have happened. I feel that the family situation was a little weird but it was an ok book
At first I thought this would be a slow book, but once I started reading it I couldn't stop. It's very well written and goes through the many stages in life. I like that it advances in years and you could really tell how the main character is feeling.
This book was very true and surprising. I am quite taken with the irony in this book very unexpected but well appreciated.
Well written, but a bittersweet ending. I also wanted Philip to live his life with the disfigurement to show how you don't have to be beautiful to get somewhere in life, but the author had other plans. Overall a good book, worth reading.
not so interesting but worth a try to read once get to known how one suffers because of disability society should accept them and sopport them because its not their fault by getting thatvkind of disablity
The Monkeyface Chronicles held my attention for the most part. I thought it had good characters and dialogue. It holds great mini themes throughout the novel which I can relate to pretty well. I loved how the story had a twist to it that I never expected! It was an interesting read...i'd probaly re-read it.
This book is my favorite so far. It has a really good story line and a lot of suspence.
